WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - On Saturday the top-ranked Wake Forest field hockey team will host the No. 3 Maryland Terrapins at 12 p.m. at Kentner Stadium.

The Demon Deacons will be defending their perfect 8-0 mark, while Maryland (7-1) will be looking to climb back to the top of the rankings with a win after Wake Forest bumped the Terrapins out of No.1 two weeks ago.

Wake Forest and Maryland hold the first and second spots, respectively, on the NCAA Ratings Percentage Index, which takes into account the winning percentage of a team's opponents as well as its own winning percentage.

The match will serve as each team's second conference contest. Maryland blanked Boston College 5-0 on September 20, while the Deacons handed Duke its first conference loss with a 4-1 victory on September 13.

Wake Forest will follow Saturday's action with a road match on Monday, September 29 against Longwood in Farmville, Va.
