WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest field hockey senior Michelle Kasold earned a spot in this week's Women's Field Hockey.com Honor Roll for her powerful offensive performance against No. 6 Duke and Indiana over the weekend. In the Demon Deacon conference opener with Duke on Saturday, Kasold teamed up with Hilary Moore to score the first goal of the game just over ten minutes into the contest. Kasold would log a second assist on Kim Romansky's final goal of the game, setting the score at 4-1 at Kentner Stadium. On Sunday, Kasold assisted in the tying goal against Indiana, setting the ball for Minou Gimbrere during a penalty corner play. Gimbrere was able to send a rocket towards the IU goal where a waiting Aileen Davis guided the ball past the Hoosier keeper. With the score knotted, Wake Forest took the lead with Regina Shannon's on-point penalty stroke 20 minutes before the end of regulation to post a 2-1 win over Indiana. Kasold is now the team leader in assists, aiding in seven goals through six games. The Demon Deacons are one of only four teams in the nation to hold a 6-0 record and currently lead the ACC with a 1-0 conference mark. Wake Forest will play its first road matches of the season this weekend, facing Ohio at the University of Virginia and Davidson College in Davidson, N.C.
