Sept. 11, 2006 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest field hockey player Christine Suggs has been tabbed as the ACC Player of the Week, marking the second week in a row that a Demon Deacon has received the accolade. The sophomore led the team in scoring in both games last week, as the No. 2 Demon Deacons (7-0, 1-0 ACC) remain undefeated this season. A forward from Durham, N.C., Suggs scored two of the goals in a 3-0 shutout victory over third-ranked Duke (5-1, 0-1 ACC) last Saturday. In a 5-1 win against 10th-ranked Louisville on Sunday, she collected two more goals including the game-winner for a total of four on the week. Suggs currently leads the ACC in points (17), goals (9) and goals per game (1.29). Wake Forest will hit the road for a pair of games this week. The Deacs face Kent State on Friday, September 15, and then square off with Michigan State the following day.
