WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest field hockey athlete Minou Gimbrere earned a spot in the Women's Field Hockey.com Honor Roll this week for her standout performance against North Carolina and James Madison last weekend. In Wake Forest's 2-1 upset over then-top ranked North Carolina, senior Gimbrere added the final penalty stroke that gave the Demon Deacons the edge over the Tar Heels. Gimbrere followed up with a goal against seventh-ranked James Madison on Sunday in addition to two assists, helping lead the Deacons to a 3-1 victory over the Dukes. The talented midfielder/back from the Netherlands now has two goals and three assists for 2008. With the wins over the weekend, WFU is now 4-0 and will open conference play on Saturday, September 13 against Duke. Wake Forest moved from No. 3 to No. 2 in the most recent National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, falling just behind Maryland, who is also 4-0 for the year.
