Deacons Fall to Michigan in Women's Field Hockey

ST. LOUIS --- The Wake Forest field hockey team (0-2) lost to 11th ranked Michigan (1-1) on day two of the ACC/Big East Challenge, 2-1. It was the Deacons first ever meeting with the Wolverines. Senior Lisa Andries (East Greenwich, RI) scored Wake's lone goal during the second half. Nienke van Ruiten was credited with an assist. Junior goalie Meaghan Nitka was registered six saves on nine Michigan shots. The Deacons return to action on Friday, September 11 in Richmond, Va. They will take on American University beginning at 5 p.m.
