WAKE FOREST FALLS TO NO. 3 MARYLAND, 3-0

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Lynsey McVicker and Christine DeBow had a goal and an asist each as third-ranked Maryland (10-0, 1-0 ACC) blanked visiting Wake Forest (6-5, 0-2) on Saturday afternoon.
The Terps outshot the Deacons by a 22-2 margin, and also held a 22-2 edge in penalty corners. McVicker and DeBow scored their goals in a five-minute span in the first half, giving Maryland a 2-0 lead at the break. UM's Nadine Bennett scored the lone goal in the second half. For Wake Forest, sophomore Meaghan Nitka made 16 saves in goal. Wake travels to North Carolina on Wednesday night for a 7:30 match.
