Box Score

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore forward Kim Romansky scored the go-ahead goal at the 25:45 mark and the fifth-ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons held the one-goal lead in the second period to defeat No. 12 Ohio, 2-1, on Saturday.

Wake improved its record to 4-2 with the win, while the Bobcats fell to 5-3 on the season.

Romansky scored on a loose ball in front of Ohio's net to give the Deacs the 2-1 lead in the first half.

The Malvern, Pa. native also scored the Deacs' first goal at the 11 minute mark off of a pass from Liza Casella, but Ohio's Marcy Dull scored the game-tying goal 28 seconds later, which was the Bobcats only shot of the game.

Wake Forest took 20 shots, including 11 on goal, as Ohio goalkeeper Jessie Martin recorded a career-best nine saves. Chelsea Cipriani, Liz Fries, Minou Gimbrere and Michelle Kasold took two shots on goal each. Gimbrere led the team with a total of six shots, while Cipriani took four.

The Deacs are back in action on Sunday when they face Indiana in a 1 p.m. game. Indiana dropped a 1-0 decision to Ohio on Friday night.
