Wake Forest Ties School Record with 12-0 Win over Davidson

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest tied the school record for goals in a game as the Demon Deacons blew past visiting Davidson, 12-0, at Kentner Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

The Deacons (3-1) dominated the game from start to finish, outshooting the Wildcats (1-3) 32-3 and holding a 22-2 advantage on penalty corners. Senior back Amy Allen opened up the scoring for Wake Forest, converting on a direct corner just 8:38 into the game. Allen repeated the feat just two minutes later, giving the Deacs an early 2-0 lead. WFU ran off seven more goals before halftime, including three straight by sophomore forward Samantha Rush in a span of 7:06.

Sophomore midfielder Margit Haalebos led the Deacons with a career-best three goals and two assists, while junior forward Amanda Janney added three assists. Sophomore Meaghan Nitka and freshman Jaime Tressler combined for three saves in goal to share the shutout. For Davidson, goalkeepers Sara Gebhardt and Nancy Livingston combined for 10 saves.
