WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Patrice Johnson, a 5'10 guard from Howard D. Woodson High School in Washington, D.C., has signed a national letter of intent to join the Wake Forest women's basketball team in the fall of 2008.

During her final year with the Woodson High Warriors, Johnson helped lead her team to its first city title since 2004, averaging 13.7 points per game, eight rebounds and four steals. She was named Washington D.C.'s Gatorade Player of the Year and a McDonald's All-American Nominee for 2008 in addition to picking up Washington DC All-Met First Team honors and The Washington Post's All-Extra Player of the Year award.

"We are very excited to have Patrice join our Deacon family," said Wake Forest head coach Mike Petersen. "Patrice brings with her a strong academic and athletic background. She is a welcomed addition to our women's basketball program and the Wake Forest Community."
