Wake Falls to Cavaliers
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Lisa Hosac scored 12 of her 16
points in the first half Sunday night as No. 15 Virginia jumped in front
early and coasted to a 65-55 victory over Wake Forest.
DeMya Walker led the Cavaliers (13-3, 4-3 Atlantic Coast Conference)
with 23 points. Mimi McKinney scored 10 points, and she and Hosac each
contributed seven rebounds.
Virginia went ahead 11-4 in the first three minutes of the game with
baskets by all five starters and stretched the advantage to 17 by
halftime.
Wake Forest (4-18, 0-8) was led by Heidi Coleman with 16 points, and
Dardy Olivia added 10.
