Three Women's Basketball Players Sign to Play at WFU
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Three women's basketball players signed national letters of intent to play at Wake Forest during the November signing period, it was announced today by Demon Deacon head coach Charlene Curtis. All three players are high school seniors who will enroll at Wake Forest in the fall of 1998. Wake Forest's fall signees:
* Elizabeth Biedrycki (6-4, F/C, Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Catholic H.S.) Biedrycki led Charlotte Catholic to a 23-3 record and the North Carolina state semifinals in 1996-97, averaging 17.5 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks per game. She was named first-team all-county and the Western Piedmont 2A Player of the Year.
* Val Klopfer (5-4, G, Albany, NY/Bishop Maginn H.S.) Klopfer is a true point guard who was ranked among the top 300 players in the nation by the Blue Star Index. She helped lead Bishop Maginn to a New York State Championship in 1996-97 and was named an Honorable Mention All-American by Street & Smith.
* LaChina Robinson (6-4, F/C, Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams) Robinson is a solid defensive post player who will give Wake added size in the middle. She began playing basketball in 10th grade and has also competed in AAU competition.
