WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- The Wake Forest cross country teams head to Greenville, NC where they will compete at Saturday's NCAA Southeast Regional. The men's 10k race will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the women's race at 11 a.m. The competiton will be held at East Carolina University's Lake Kristi.

The Demon Deacon women took home last year's Southeast Regional title at Greenville and are looking to repeat as champions this season. The Wake Forest men placed eighth out of 25 teams in 2002. Wake Forest was the site for the 2003 ACC Cross Country Championships, held the morning of November 1. The 13th-ranked Demon Deacon women placed third while the men came in fifth. Sean Stevens, Anna Sherman and Michelle Sikes were named to the all-conference teams while Sikes also collected ACC Freshman of the Year honors.

The teams which finish first in Saturday's races will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships in Cedar Falls, Iowa while the top four finishers in each race who are not on the winning team will also advance.
