WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's cross country team returns to action this Saturday at the Greater Louisville Classic.

The 8k men's race begins at 9:30 a.m. EDT at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.

The Deacons will be one of 33 teams competing in the first men's race of the day. Georgia Tech is only other ACC team scheduled to compete, while four SEC teams (Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, Vanderbilt) will be in attendance. Tennessee is the defending Greater Louisville Classic men's champion.

Wake Forest is coming off a second-place showing at the Raleigh Invitational on Sept. 14. Keaton Morgan and John Compton led the Deacs, placing sixth and eighth respectively. Jeremy Fisico was not far behind in 13th place, while Patrick Russell (17th) and Chris Catton (19th) also turned in top-20 performances.

The Deacons are ranked ninth in the Southeast Region in the latest USTFCCCA Poll.

Wake Forest will not compete the following weekend before returning to action at the Penn State Invitational on Friday, Oct. 12. The race in State College, Pa. will be the Deacons' final competition prior to the ACC Championships on Oct. 27.
