WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's cross country team is back in action this Friday at the Raleigh Invitational. The Demon Deacons remain in-state to compete at the SAS Complex in Cary.

The invitational will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a men's 5k race on Friday afternoon.

The Deacons have been led thus far by sophomore Marcus Dillon. In the season-opening Wake Forest Relays, Dillon posted the top individual time out of 45 total runners.

The Oshawa, Ontario native turned in a third-place finish the following weekend at the Lou Onesty Invitational, finishing the 8k race in 24:53.40.

Junior Jeremy Fisico also had a solid performance last weekend, placing 13th in 25:35.60. Redshirt freshman Patrick Russell was the only other Deacon to run, as he finished 43rd overall.

Freshman Keaton Morgan, Russell and senior Matt Owen all turned in top-10 performances at the Wake Forest Relays, helping the Deacs to a second-place finish.

The Wake Forest men are currently ranked ninth in the Southeast Region by the USTFCCCA.

Wake Forest will take next weekend off before returning to action Sept. 29 at the Greater Louisville Classic.
