Sept. 11, 2003 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- The Wake Forest Alumni Invitational Cross Country Meet will take place Saturday morning on the campus of Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons will compete against Charlotte, Clemson, Georgia Tech and an alumni team. The men's 8K race begins at 9:30 am while the women will start at 10:15 am and run a 6K course.
The Deacs' first cross country event of the season was a successful one for both the men's team and the women's team. The men finished second overall at the Mountaineer Open in Boone, N.C. while the seventh-ranked women captured first place in their division. Sean Stevens and Michelle Sikes both took home ACC Performer of the Week honors for their strong finishes at the Mountaineer Open.
