Wake Forest Harriers Compete At North Carolina Collegiate

Women Finish Second; Men's B-Team Finishes Seventh

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Wake Forest cross country teams competed in the North Carolina Collegiate on Saturday at McAlpine Park in Charlotte.

The women finished second with 59 team points, 24 behind meet champion NC State. The men's B-Team finished in seventh place with 201 points. NC State also claimed the men's title with a perfect score of 15.

Leading the way for the Deacon women was Janelle Kraus (Shelter Island, NY) who finished second. The three-time ACC Performer-of-the-Week finished the race with a time of 17:05, eight seconds behind champion Laura Rhoads of NC State. Another Deac finishing among the top-10 was Amy Wallace (Wakefield, MA) who finished ninth with a time of 17:48.

The top finisher for the Deacon men was Josh Buffolino (Shelbyville, KY) who ran a time of 25:48 to place 23rd.

This was the last meet for both teams before the ACC Championships in Tallahassee, FL on November 3.
