The Wake Forest men's cross country team notched an eighth-place finish on Saturday at the NCAA Southeast Regionals in Greenville, NC. The 10k race included 25 teams vying for a national championship bid. Mike Altieri paced the Demon Deacons, grabbing seventh place with a time of 30:21.5. Altieri was also named to the NCAA Southeast All-Regional squad. Sean Stevens finished at the 40th spot with a time of 31:24.2, followed by Brandon Bartholomew in 45th (31:31.5). Also competing for the Deacs were Eddie Acosta (58th), Andrew Ice (83rd) and Matt Busick (85th). The regional competition concluded the 2002 season for the men's cross country squad.
