Altieri, Hill Lead Men's Cross Country To Victory

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Sophomores Michael Altieri and Garrick Hill led the Demon Deacons to a first place finish in the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, SC.

Altieri won the individual title, clearing the 8,000 meter course in 24:51, while Hill finished fourth with a time of 25:03.

Wake Forest received scoring from junior Stephan Pro (6th, 25:15), sophomore Chris Estwanik (7th, 25:18), sophomore Sean Nagorny (9th, 25:19), and sophomore Philip Wiles (10th, 25:23) to round out the Top 10 finishes.

Senior Jay Penry finished 16th with a time of 25:39 to complete the Wake Forest scoring.

The men's cross country team will return to action on September 25 at the Greensboro Invitational.
