Winston-Salem, NC - Deacons Michelle Sikes, Hanna Bremler and Caitlin Chrisman finished in second, third and fifth place respectively, to lead the Wake Forest women to a second place finish in the Wake Forest Invitational Saturday morning. In men's action, Sean Stevens, Kevin Jones and Brad Wharton brought in third, fourth and fifth place finished to give the Deacon men their second runner-up finish in as many races this season.

The North Carolina teams finished in first place in both races. The women finished with 37 points and the men with 27. The Tar Heels also captured first place in the individual standings.

Sikes was just three seconds behind Tar Heel Meghan Owen, with a time of 17:33 in the 5k race. Bremler and Chrisman ran 17:44 and 17:44.1 respectively.

Molly Nunn sprinted to a 16th place finish, overcoming three tar heels in the race for home for an 18:39 score. Liz Hankinson and Stacey Honeyman were next in line for the Deacons with 18:44 and 18:47 respectively.

Stevens, Jones and Wharton ran 15:18, 15:21 and 15:21.6 respectively. Joel Conn, Brian Smith, John Compton, Ottie Kerley, Jared Hill, Westin Galloway, Matt Owen, and Michael Fernbach also ran for the Deacons.
