CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Wake Forest placed three runners in the top 20 to give the Demon Deacon men's cross country team a fourth-place finish out of 12 teams at the Lou Onesty Invitational here on Saturday.

Liberty cruised to the team championship, followed by Virginia, William & Mary and Wake Forest.The race was an 8k event at the Panorama Farms Course at the University of Virginia.

Jeremy Fisico led Wake Forest with a 12th-place finish and a time of 25:41. Jared Hill was 17th at 25:56 and John Compton took 20th place at 25:57.

Other Wake Forest runners included Chris Catton (38th place/26:25), Joel Conn (40th/26:29), Ottie Kerley (47th/26:46), Ryan Curran (50th/27:26), Leek Deng (71st/27:50) and Zach Hines (103rd/30:16).

Liberty's Josh McDougal, who ran the course in 24:14, won the individual crown. David Kemboi of Norfolk State finished 18 seconds back in second place.

Wake Forest returns to action Sept. 29 at the Oregon Invitational.
