Wake Forest's Andy Bloom, Steve Brown and Nolan Swanson were placed on the Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary Men's Outdoor Track & Field Team, announced Tuesday, Sept. 17 by Commissioner John Swofford. The 52-member team was voted on by the nine league institutions as decided by the league's 50th Anniversary Committee.

Clemson led all league schools with nine members on the Golden Anniversary team while Georgia Tech, Maryland and North Carolina were tied for second with eight honorees each. Duke had five players selected, followed by NC State and Virginia with four apiece and Florida State and Wake Forest with three.

A two-time National Champion in the Shot Put and Discus Throw, Bloom (1992-96) was a four-time All-American earning honors in Shot Put and Discus two years each. While at Wake Forest, Bloom was a six-time ACC Champion, winning both Shot Put and Discus three years each. He was a two-time MVP of ACC Championships and a four-time ACC Indoor Champion. Bloom was also a member of the 2000 Olympic squad.

Brown (1987-1990) was a two-time All-American in 110-Meter High Hurdles, earning two ACC Championships. Also ACC Champion in indoor 55-Meter Hurdles, Brown was a three-time All-ACC selection indoors. Currently an assistant coach at Clemson, Brown competed for Trinidad and Tobago in the 2000 Olympics.

A four-time ACC Champion, Swanson earned All-America honors in the 10,000m. Named Most Outstanding Performer of the 1999 ACC outdoor meet, Swanson won the 5,000m and 3,000-meter Steeplechase two years each. Swanson also earned All-American honors in cross country and was a two-time ACC Indoor Champion and 1996 ACC Cross Country Champion.
