Wake Forest Competes at the Virginia Tech Valentine's Classic

Janelle Kraus Provisionally Qualifies for NCAAs

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- In the Virginia Tech Valentine's Indoor Track & Field Classic on Saturday, Wake Forest sophomore Janelle Kraus (Shelter Island, NY) finished sixth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:46.12 to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Kraus ran another solid race in the mile run finishing with a time of 4:56.56. That time was good enough for a third place finish.

Junior Amy Wallace (Wakefield, MA) placed sixth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:59.17, while freshman Summer Shaw (Huntington Beach, CA) recorded a vault of 2.59m in the pole vault to finish seventh.

For the men, senior Ben Boyd (Marietta, GA) finished the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:26.94 to place ninth.
