CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After wrapping up exams on Thursday, the Wake Forest track and field squad resumed spring competition over the weekend at the Taylor Cattle Farm Classic, hosted by the University of North Carolina. Merry Placer placed first in the women's 5000m run with a 17:34.62 performance, while Thomas Sensing's 164-10 discus throw was the top mark in the event. Sensing also had his highest mark of the season in the shot put, throwing a 54-08.25 for a fourth place finish. Stephen Castillejo topped his season best in the javelin throw by more than eight feet, placing fourth with a 173-03 throw. Michelle Loyd hit the regional qualifying mark in the 400m hurdles for the fifth time this season, running a 58.92 race, for her second best performance of the season.
