Wake Forest Wraps up at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Wake Forest Track and Field squad finished out competition with relay events at the historic Penn Relays over the weekend.

In the 4x200, Kerry Major, Jon Reid, Allen Lunkenheimer and Phillip Warsaw finished 13th in the trials with a 1:25.57. On the women's side the Deacons took a 16th place finish with a 1:37.63 mark. Molly Kennedy, Michelle Loyd, Alex Gove and Nicole Castronuova were the WFU contenders.

In the Sprint Medley championships, Anna Nosenko stepped in for Alex Gove and the Deacs finished 6th in the trials with a 4:00.15 mark.

Thomas Sensing represented Wake in several Field Events, including the shot put, where he put up a season best 54-11.50 throw for a fourth place finish.

Anna Nosenko finished out competition with a 4:51.88 mile run for a seventh place overall finish.

Earlier in the event Michelle Loyd placed first among female collegiate competitors in the 400m hurdles with a 58.95 finish.

The Demon Deacon will have a week off competition as they into exam week. On May 9, the teams will resume action at North Carolina Fast Times in Chapel Hill, N.C.
