WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team will open fall play this weekend at the historic Southern Intercollegiate Tournament at the University of Georgia. The tournament, which originated in 1968, will feature 179 participants from 32 schools.

Wake Forest freshmen Joost Vogel and David Hopkins will make their collegiate debuts at the tournament, both facing competitors from Central Florida.

After earning a bye for the first round, junior Jason Morgenstern will face Vanderbilt standout Vijay Paul in the second round, while Andrew Brasseaux will square-off against Florida's Tyler Hochwalt. Senior Carlos Salmon will open play with Middle Tennessee State's Alex McCann at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Doubles action will begin on Friday evening.
