WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Myles Clouston, a member of the Wake Forest men's tennis team, was named the 1999 Region II Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)/Farnsworth Senior Player of the Year. As a result of this honor, he is included in a select group of seven other regional winners to be considered for National ITA Senior Player of the Year.

"Myles is very deserving of the award," said Wake Forest head coach Jeff Zinn. "He makes everybody play at a higher level by his personality and work ethic."

Clouston was 22-14 overall in singles competition this season, while achieving a national ranking as high as 24th. Clouston also received All-ACC honors this season. He posted a record of 13-9 at No. 1 singles in dual match competition this spring.

In doubles play, Clouston and partner Raul Munoz are 27-8 as they prepare for the NCAA Doubles Championships later this month. The duo was the 1999 ACC No. 1 Doubles Flight Champion, going 7-1 in conference play. They need two more victories this season to tie their own school record for victories in a season, 29.

The NCAA Individual Championships will be held May 26-30 in Athens, Ga. on the campus of the University of Georgia.
