ORLANDO, Fla. -

The top-seeded Duke Blue Devils defeated the No. 4 seeded Wake Forest Demon Deacons 4-1 to advance to the finals of the 2001 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Championship at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in Orlando, Fla.

The Blue Devils swept No. 1 through No. 4 singles after dropping the doubles point to Wake. Duke was led in singles by No. 1 Phillip King, No. 2 Ramsey Smith, No. 3 Marko Cerenko and No. 4 Andres Pedroso.

Wake Forest captured the doubles point with wins from No. 2 Trent Brendon and David Loewenthal and No. 3 Justin Kaufmann and David Bere.

The Blue Devils improve to 20-3 and will advance to the finals where they will face Clemson. With the loss, the Deacs falls to 14-10 on the year. The championship game is set to start at 11:00 a.m., on Sunday, April 22.
