Winston-Salem, N.C. -- The Wake Forest Men's Tennis team defeated High Point 8-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the Wake Forest University Indoor Tennis Center.
The Deacons swept the singles matches to clinch the victory. At No. 1 singles junior Raul Munoz defeated Joakim Peterson 6-2, 6-3. Freshman Mike Murray defeated Jakob Widango 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles sophomore Justin Kaufmann defeated Jamie Leino 6-3, 7-5. The Deacs' freshman David Bere defeated Erick Petterson 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Freshman Trent Brendon defeated Peter Greheig 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and junior Brett Mauro defeated Peter Mellstrom 6-2, 6-4 to complete the singles sweep.
With the win Wake Forest improves to 13-10 on the season. The Deacons will return to action on April 21 in Atlanta, Georgia for the ACC Championships.
