Men's Tennis Falls to #28 South Carolina,6-1

Wake Forest fell to 6-7 on the season.

Winston-Salem, NC -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the University of South Carolina Tuesday afternoon at the Indoor Tennis Center. With the loss, Wake Forest fell to 6-7 on the season.

The Demon Deacons struck early to win the doubles point. Senior Jimmy Chou and Sophomore Andres Guzman teamed for an 8-4 win at No. 2. Michael Berger and Johan Hansen clinched the point for the home team with a tight 9-7 win at No. 3.

Wake Forest faltered in singles action. At No. 1, Myles Clouston fell to Jerome Jourdon (#59) 7-5, 6-3. Guillaume Legat (#29) beat Berger at No. 2, 6-4, 7-6. Raul Munoz fell prey to Vladimir Pavicevic (ranked 10th in the country) at No. 3. Johan Hansen pushed Olof Akkesson to three sets at No. 4, but fell 0-6, 6-1, 7-6 (6).

The Demon Deacons return to action on Saturday, March 21 when they host Old Dominion at 1 p.m.
