March 7, 2000 GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team was defeated by the fourth-ranked Florida Gators 5-2 on Tuesday at Florida's Linder Stadium. The Deacons won one doubles match, but fell in the other two. Raul Munoz and Michael Murray won at No. 2 doubles, defeating Marcos Asse and Justin O'Neal 9-7. The Deacs won two of the six singles matches to make the final 5-2. Munoz won his singles match at No. 3, defeating Nathan Overholser 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. Justin Kaufmann defeated Troy Hahn at No. 6 singles 6-4, 7-5. With the loss, the Deacons fall to 6-4 on the season, while the Gators improve to 9-2 with the win. Wake will be back in action on Thursday afternoon when they travel to Tampa, Fla. to take on South Florida.
