March 5, 2000 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Florida State defeated Wake Forest, 5-2, in an Atlantic Coast Conference men's tennis match on Sunday afternoon in Tallahassee, Fla. With the victory, Florida State improves 9-1 overall and 1-0 in the ACC on the season while Wake Forest drops to 6-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Seminoles won two of three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and then took four of six singles matches en route to the victory. FSU won matches at the No. 1, No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 positions while Wake Forest managed victories at the Nos. 3 and 4 positions. The Demon Deacons' Johan Hansen defeated Jay Travis at No. 3, 6-4, 6-4, while Wake Forest's Raul Munoz downed Chad Mooney, 7-6, 7-6, at No. 4 singles. Wake Forest will return to action when the Demon Deacons visit 5th-ranked Florida on Tuesday afternoon.
