Decons shut out East Tennessee St. 7-0

WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team shutout the visiting team from East Tennessee State University this afternoon at the Indoor Tennis Center. The 7-0 win pushes the Deacons record to 5-2.
Wake Forest jumped out early to win the doubles point. Wake's standout team of Myles Clouston and Raul Munoz (ranked 32nd in the country) continued its torrid pace winning at No. 1, 8-3. At No. 3, Andres Guzman and Brett Mauro combined for an 8-5 victory over Juan Yannuzzi and Matt Keeter.
The Deacons dominated singles action. Lars Kabiersch won at No. 1, 6-3, 6-4. Senior Billy Gluck won easily at No. 3, 6-2, 6-3. Michael Berger won his seventh match against zero defeats this spring, beating Regis Grourd at No. 4, 6-1, 6-3.
The Demon Deacons return to action Friday when they host 15th-ranked Illinois at 6 p.m.
