RICHMOND, Va. - The 59th ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team lost 4-0 to No. 14 Virginia Commonwealth Saturday afternoon at the Thalhimer Tennis Center. The Rams swept singles play and won two of three doubles matches to take the doubles point.
Raul Munoz, playing the number one seed and Mike Murray, playing the number three seed, both lost in tiebreaker sets to Virginia Commonwealth in singles play. Munoz teamed up with David Loewenthal to defeat VCU's Fernando Sanchez and Casquero 8-3 in the number three doubles match.
Virginia Commonwealth improves to 9-3 on the season while Wake Forest falls to 4-2 on the year. The Demon Deacons will return to action 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2 when the Deacs host No. 11 Florida.
