Feb. 12, 2000 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team split its two matches Saturday, falling to the Purdue Boilermakers 3-4 in the first match and defeating the UNC Greensboro Spartans 6-1 in the second. In the first match, the Deacons won at the two, three and four positions. Freshman Michael Murray played at No. 2, defeating Derek Miller of Purdue 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-4. Michael Berger defeated Laith Al-Agba 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 and Johan Hansen defeated Scott Mayer 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4. Against UNC Greensboro, Wake won the doubles point and five of the six singles matches. Raul Munoz played at No. 1, defeating John Clark 6-1, 6-1. Berger played at No. 3, defeating Diego Goya 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Johan Hansen, playing at No. 4, defeated Nigel Mitten 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. With the win, Wake improves to 3-1 on the season. The Deacs will be back in action on Feb. 19 when they travel to Williamsburg, Va. to take on the William & Mary Tribe. The match is set to start at 9 a.m. Purdue 4 Wake Forest 3
