WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The top ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team steps out of conference for the final time in the 2008 regular season on Tuesday night, traveling to Davidson for a 7 p.m. (ET) kickoff. Live audio and video of the game will be available at davidsonwildcats.com.

The Deacons suffered the first blemish on their record last Saturday night, tying Duke 0-0. The game marked the first time in 24 contests that Wake Forest had failed to score a goal.

Junior goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald recorded his ninth shut out of the season against Duke, making four saves. Fitzgerald currently ranks second in the ACC with a 0.43 goals against average and leads the league with nine clean sheets.

Wake Forest will look to extend its unbeaten streak against non-ACC foes to 38 games on Tuesday night. The last out-of-conference foe to defeat the Demon Deacons was California on November 26, 2005, in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Davidson enters Tuesday's match with a 2-10-1 record, including a 1-3-0 mark in Southern Conference play. The Wildcats have defeated Marshall and UNC Greensboro this season. Davidson is coming off a 2-0 home loss to Elon.

The Wildcats are led by Machel Turner, who has scored three goals on the season and has seven points. Alex Caskey leads the team with two assists and is second on the team in points with six.

Robby Goldsberry and Matt McElroy have each seen time in goal for Davidson this season. Goldsberry has played in 10 games this season, allowing 18 goals in 720 minutes of action. McElroy has given up 13 goals in 470 minutes, posting a 2.49 goals against average.

Wake Forest and Davidson are meeting for the 27th time in series history. The Deacs lead the all-time series 21-4-1, including a 9-3-0 edge when meeting at Davidson. Wake Forest has won 10 straight meetings in the series, including a 5-1 victory last season.
