WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The top-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team is entering its final stretch of home games in the 2008 regular season, playing its last three regular season home games in the next two weeks. The Deacons host their final non-conference opponent of 2008 on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. (ET) when they welcome UNC-Greensboro to Spry Stadium.

Wake Forest is currently 12-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. The Deacons are the consensus No. 1 team in the country and have been ranked in the top spot all season long. Wake is currently on a 17-match winning streak, the best winning streak in school history and tied for the 14th-longest winning streak in NCAA history.

The Deacs have been extremely successful at home, posting a 6-0 record in 2008 at Spry Stadium. Dating back to the 2006 season, the Deacons have won 28 straight home games, tied for the seventh-longest streak in NCAA history.

The final three games also mark one of the last chances for fans to see the 2008 senior class in action. Arguably the most successful class in the history of Wake Forest men's soccer, the 2008 senior class has gone from finishing last in the ACC its freshman year to a national championship in 2007 and a perfect 12-0 record thus far in 2008. The 2008 senior class consists of Lyle Adams, Cline Beam, Evan Brown, Will Clayton, Sam Cronin, Jamie Franks, Michael Lahoud and Marcus Tracy.

The Deacons open the final home stretch of the season on Tuesday night against UNC-Greensboro. The Spartans are 5-7-1 on the season, including a 1-2-0 record in conference play. UNCG is led by Tim Masters and Jokull Elisabetarson, who each have seven points on the season.

Wake Forest closes out its home schedule with games against a pair of conference rivals. The Deacons host Duke on Saturday, October 18, at 7 p.m. (ET) and welcome Boston College to Spry Stadium on Saturday, October 25 at 7 p.m. (ET). Wake Forest will honor its eight seniors before the game against the Eagles. Both the Duke and Boston College games will also be shown live on the web on ACC Select.

Live stats, along with a complete recap from Tuesday's game against UNC-Greensboro, will be available on wakeforestsports.com.
