BLACKSBURG, Va. - The top-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team will face No. 9 Virginia Tech in ACC competition Friday at 7 p.m. in Blacksburg, Va.

The Hokies currently sit in the ACC's fourth place spot while the Demon Deacons hold the runner-up position behind the Boston College Eagles, who are undefeated through three conference contests.

Virginia Tech is 6-1-2 overall this season and 1-0-1 in conference match-ups. Both of the Hokie ACC matches have ended in double overtime: the first against Clemson on September 7, where a goal in the 108th minute saved VT from a draw, and the second vs. Virginia that ended in a 1-1 tie. The Demon Deacons (7-0-1, 2-0-0) recently had their first draw of 2007, tying the Elon Phoenix 1-1 in Winston-Salem on Tuesday night.

In the ACC, the Deacons last faced No. 18 Maryland and handed the Terps their third loss of conference season with a 2-0 shutout.
