Furman Blanks Wake Forest in Men's Soccer, 2-0

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Furman's Brent Rosser scored one goal and assisted another to lead the Paladins to a 2-0 victory over Wake Forest Friday at Spry Stadium.

Rosser got Furman (7-2) on the board early in the game when he put a header into the net off a corner kick from teammate Pete Santora and a pass from Todd Jackson at 2:03.

In the second half, Rosser sent a lead pass to Carl Junot who beat Wake Forest goalkeeper Sean Conner one-on-one to score at 58:37.

Wake Forest (6-4) outshot Furman 15-7 and dominated much of the play, but the Deacons could never find the net to get on the scoreboard. Furman keeper Ronnie Pascale made six saves to record the shutout for the Paladins.

The Demon Deacons return to action next Saturday, Oct. 11, when they host NC State at 7 p.m. in an important ACC matchup.
