WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest's Brent Wanner was named to the Golf Coaches' Association of America (GCAA) All-Freshman team this past week. The team, comprised of the top five rookies in the nation, was released after the conclusion of the NCAA Golf Championships.

Wanner, who earned All-ACC honors earlier this year, played in 12 events in 1999-2000 and led the Deacons with a 72.7 stroke average. He finished in the top 10 in six different events, including a seventh-place showing at the NCAA East Regional. At the NCAA Championships, he earned a 24th place finish and helped WFU to a 15th-place team showing.
