NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Wake Forest sophomore Marc Gladson shot a second-round 4-under par 67 and is tied for eighth place at the Belmont Intercollegiate here Monday. Gladson and teammates, freshmen Travis Wadkins and Preston Yates, are competing in the 54-hole event as individuals. Wake Forest is not competing for the team title at the par 71, 6,448-yard course at the Old Natchez Country Club. Gladson shot an even par 71 in Monday's morning round, then sizzled in the afternoon round with a 67. He enters Tuesday's final round six shots off the lead. Wadkins, the son of former Wake Forest great Lanny Wadkins, shot back-to-back round of 70. He is 2-under par and tied for 19th place entering the final 18 holes. The Belmont Intercollegiate marked the career debut of Yates, a rookie walk-on. Yates shot consecutive rounds of 2-over 73 on Monday and is tied for 46th place. Austin Peay State's Justin Metzger holds the lead in the individual race with a two-round total of 10-under 132. Metzger fired rounds of 65 and 67 on Monday. Akron's Blake Sattler (-9) is one stroke back. Three players are tied for third place at 7-under par. Wake Forest will resume team play April 7-9 at the U.S. Collegiate Championship in Alpharetta, Ga. Individual Standings Wake Forest Individuals
