Live Scoring

The No. 19 Wake Forest men's golf team will tee-off Sunday at the General Jim Hackler Championship for the first time since 2004, when the Deacs finished in a tie for seventh place.

The par-72, 6,950-yard Players Club of Myrtle Beach will host 36 holes Sunday and the final 18 on Monday.

The Deacs will send senior Chris McCartin, junior Dustin Groves, sophomores Brendan Gielow and Travis Wadkins and freshman Chris Cannon to compete against a field that includes ACC foes Florida State, North Carolina and Duke.

Freshman Justin Bryant will compete as an individual.

Wake has been off for a month after finishing tied for sixth at the SunTrust Gator Invitational.

Gielow will be the top scorer competing for the Deacs as he boasts a 71.4 stroke average per 18 holes. McCartin has a 72 stroke average for the spring semester entering the Hackler.

Cannon will be competing in his first event of the spring and for the first time since suffering a tear in his esophagus during the fall semester.

Teams are scheduled for a shotgun tee-off at 8:30 a.m. Sunday for continuous play of rounds one and two.

The weather will be brisk in Myrtle Beach with a high of just 56 degrees projected for Sunday with winds at 10 to 20 miles per hour.

Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com.
