Summer, 2007
Qualified for the United States Amateur in August . . . Advanced through stroke play and into match play . . . Finished 59th in stroke play with a seven-over 147 . . . Defeated Northwestern University's David Merkow 3-and-2 to advance to the round of 32 . . . Merkow was the 2006 Big Ten Player of the Year . . . Lost to eventual Amateur champion Colt Knost of SMU 3-and-2.
2006-07
Gielow finished second on the club in scoring with a 73.76 average as a freshman . . . Had four rounds in the 60s and was under par in 33 percent of his rounds . . . Top finish was a third place at the season-opening Carpet Capital Collegiate . . . Birdied the second hole in a three-team playoff with East Tennessee State and Oregon State in the West Regional that helped push the Deacons into the NCAA Championships . . .Was the low-scoring freshman on the 2007 team with a 73.36 average . . . Posted eight sub-par rounds . . . Was WFU's top finisher at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, and the Isleworth Invitational.

Played in four of Wake's five fall events... had the fourth-lowest stroke average (73.33) on the team... shot an 18-hole low of 68... had two top-10 finishes... 89.6 of his rounds counted toward the team score... four of his 12 rounds were at par or better... burst on to the college scene by finishing third in his first event -- the Carpet Capital Collegiate -- after shooting 68-69-71--208 (-8)... finished ninth at the Bank of Tennessee Collegiate, shooting 74-72-73--219 (+3)... also played in the Ping/Golfweek Preview (64th) and the Isleworth Invitational (44th).
Summer, 2006
Enjoyed an outstanding year of amateur play... finished third in the Monroe Invitational... tied for fifth at the Eastern Amateur... tied for 13th in the Porter Cup... tied for third in Michigan Amateur stroke play... co-medalist at the U.S. Amateur qualifier.

Played four years of varsity golf at Mona Shores HS under coach Tom Wilson... named Michigan's Mr. Golf (state high school player of the year) in 2004 and 2005... a four-time member of the Michigan Super Team (top five prep players in Michigan)... was the first freshman ever named to the Super Team and the first to be named to that prestigious squad four years... named all-conference four times...
