November 25, 1998

WINSTON-SALEM -- Wake Forest's record-setting tandem of wide receiver Desmond Clark and quarterback Brian Kuklick, as well as head coach Jim Caldwell, have been invited to participate in three postseason all-star games.

Clark, whose 216 career receptions are the most in ACC history, has accepted invitations for the Blue-Gray Game and the inaugural All-Star Gridiron Classic.

Kuklick will join Clark in the Blue-Gray contest. The Demon Deacon quarterback completed his career fourth in ACC history with 8,017 passing yards and is Wake Forest's all-time leader in yardage, pass completions (665) and touchdown passes (44).

The Blue-Gray Game in Montgomery, AL, will be played at 12 noon on Christmas Day and be televised on ABC. The All-Star Gridiron Classic, which will match a team of Florida players (either high school or college level) against a national all-star squad, has been established by "Florida Citrus Sports" in Orlando and takes place January 16 with national television coverage by ESPN2.

Caldwell has been chosen as an assistant coach in the East-West Shrine Bowl, which will be played January 16 in Palo Alto, CA.
