WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - No. 19-ranked Wake Forest will play the first of two straight ACC road games at Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 18. Kickoff is set for 12 noon at Maryland's Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium. The game will be televised regionally on Raycom and on the Wake Forest ISP Radio Network.

Wake Forest enters at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the ACC. The Deacs are coming off a 12-7 win at home over Clemson on Oct. 9. Wake quarterback Riley Skinner accounted for 259 of Wake Forest's 342 total offense yards and engineered his fifth career fourth-quarter game-winning drive.

Maryland was idle on Oct. 11. The Terrapins' last game was a 31-0 loss at Virginia on Oct. 4 -- a setback that snapped a three-game win streak.

Maryland holds a 40-15-1 advantage in the series that dates back to 1917. The Deacons have won the last two meetings including a 38-24 triumph at Maryland in 2006 that clinched the ACC title for Wake Forest. Wake is 8-19 all-time in games played at Maryland. Wake Forest has never defeated Maryland in three consecutive meetings.

Quickie Notes
- Wake Forest moved up two spots in the USA Today Coaches poll to No. 19 and stayed the same in the Associated Press poll at No. 21. Despite not advancing in the AP poll, the Deacons' point total rose from 205 to 330.
- Wake Forest is ranked for the eighth consecutive week. The school record is nine straight weeks which was set in 2006.
- Wake Forest is 2-0 in ACC play for the first time since 1987 and just the fifth time since the league formed in 1953. The Deacons have never been 3-0 in ACC play.
- Following last week's 12-7 win over Clemson, this is the first Wake team since 1966 to win two games in a season when scoring 12 or fewer points.

Next Up...
Wake Forest will continue its two-game ACC road trip with a visit to the University of Miami. The Deacons have not faced Miami since the final game of the 2005 regular season. Wake will then return home for two consecutive games at BB&T Field, beginning with in-state rival Duke on Nov. 1. Virginia comes to town on Nov. 8.
