WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - No. 15 Wake Forest is set to host Navy in a non-conference showdown for Hall of Fame Weekend in Winston-Salem. The game is set to kickoff at 3:45 p.m. at BB&T Field.

The Demon Deacons (3-0, 1-0 ACC) are coming off a nail-biting 12-3 defeat of Florida State last Saturday in Tallahassee. The win moved the Deacs up three spots in the USA Today Coaches Poll from a week ago. The Midshipmen (2-2) also pulled out a nail-biter last weekend, edging out Rutgers 23-21 in Annapolis to snap a two-game losing streak.

Wake Forest will induct six new members into its Hall of Fame at halftime of the game. The induction class includes former basketball stars Randolph Childress `95 and Tim Duncan `97, Olympic triathlete Hunter Kemper `98, former Deacon golfer Len Mattiace `90, ex-New York Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi `63 and former basketball coach Dave Odom.

The Deacons and Midshipmen have met eight times previously with Wake holding a 6-2 advantage in the series. Wake Forest earned a 44-24 defeat of Navy last season in Annapolis. The Deacs have won four straight in the series which dates back to 1929.

Quickie Notes
- Wake Forest, winners of six straight games, will be looking to tie the school record for consecutive wins. The record is currently seven, set in 1944. The Deacons have won 12 of their last 14 games.
- The Deacons will also be seeking their 50th win under head coach Jim Grobe. The Deacons are 49-39 since Grobe took command prior to the 2001 season.
- Something has to give. Navy is the nation's top rushing team, averaging 345.8 yards per game on the ground. Wake Forest's rush defense is 33rd nationally, allowing just 101.0 yards per game on the ground.

Next Up...
Wake Forest will be off next weekend before hosting ACC-rival Clemson on Thursday, Oct. 9, in a nationally-televised game on ESPN. The Deacs will then have back-to-back ACC road games at Maryland (Oct. 18) and at Miami (Oct. 25).
