Today was the first day of full pads. We went full pads in the morning and shoulder pads and helmets in the afternoon. I felt very rusty today. This is usually the case with football players on the first few days of full pads. This is true to a certain extent with all sports, but much more so with football. This is because no one puts on football equipment in the off season and practices.

Football is a very difficult sport, whether you are good or just one of the guys on the team. You practice and workout all year for twelve games which are all about three hours each. It's especially difficult when you have more then a week left of camp and each day feels like two. I can see why some parents don't let their kids play football. But when you have done all the summer workouts and survived summer camp, it is worth it. It's worth it because you can look at other people and know you can do something they can never do. It's worth it for the way people treat you when you win. It's worth it because some people go through their whole lives being average, but for those twelve games you can be great.
