WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest football team shortened its second full-pad practice at the Doc Martin Practice Complex to one hour Thursday due to rain. The Deacs' previous practices have lasted about two hours.

Temperatures dropped into the low 40s by the conclusion of practice.

The offense simulated the sending-in of plays from the sideline and ran mostly passing plays on the center field for the middle third of practice while the defense went over formations on the adjoining grass field.

The team then gathered on the middle, pro turf field and went through a no-tackle scrimmage at about three-quarter speed. The first team offense ran approximately 15 plays, both run and pass, against the second team defense. The first team defense then took the field against the second team defense.

No special teams practice was held.

The Deacs will hold their first full-contact scrimmage at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at BB&T Field.
