Jan. 26, 2006 Greensboro, N.C. - Wake Forest football players Louis Frazier, Zac Selmon and Jeremy Thompson were among the 41 student-athletes named to the 2005 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Football Team, announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. To be eligible for consideration, a player must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career. The criteria for eligibility was more strict in 2005. In previous years, a student-athlete needed a 3.0 cumulative GPA or a 3.0 during the previous semester. This year, the student-athletes were required to have both. Frazier, a junior offensive tackle from Clearwater, Fla., is a biology major. He tallied a perfect 4.0 grade point average last fall and carries a 3.81 cumulative GPA. Frazier played in four games in 2005 as a reserve before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Selmon, a redshirt sophomore from Norman, Okla., is majoring in religion. He earned a 3.49 in the fall and owns an overall GPA of 3.19. Selmon played in all 11 games and started the final six games at tight end. He made 10 receptions for 120 yards. Thompson is a true sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., who has not declared a major. During the fall, he posted a 3.2 GPA and carries a 3.12 cumulative average. Thompson started the first eight games of the season at defensive end, but suffering a season-ending knee injury against NC State. He finished his year with 21 tackles, including two for loss.
