Wake Forest long snapper Nick Jarvis has been added to the East roster for the 83rd Annual East-West Shrine Game. The football all-star game featuring college seniors will be played at the University of Houston's Robertson Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. EST. The game will be televised by ESPN2.

Jarvis was not originally on the roster but after playing in the Hula Bowl in Honolulu on Jan. 12, he was added to the East-West game.

Jarvis, a 6-3, 271-pound senior from Lexington, NC (North Davidson) was a four-year starter for Wake Forest at long snapper. He handled the snaps on all punts, field goal attempts and extra point tries since the 2004 season. During his career, Jarvis snapped to All-America punter Ryan Plackemeier and All-America punter and kicker Sam Swank.

This is the third consecutive year that Wake Forest has been represented in the East-West game. Steve Vallos played in 2007 and Plackemeier in 2006.

The East-West game benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children. To date, the game has contributed over $14 million to Shriners Hospitals.

Former UCLA and NFL head coach Dick Vermeil will serve as the head coach of the East team.
