Three non-scholarship student-athletes have been added to Wake Forest's 2008-09 roster. Joining the Demon Deacons are guards Brett Bitove (Toronto, Canada) and Ben Davis (St. Louis, Mo.) and forward Brooks Godwin (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Bitove, a 6-3 freshman guard, is a native of Toronto, Canada, and played on the prep level at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Bitove was a two-time second team All-Palm Beach County honoree and helped the Buccaneers to a Florida 2A state runner-up finish as a sophomore in 2005-06. Bitove will wear No. 30. Davis, a 6-3 sophomore guard, is a native of St. Louis, Mo., and played at Westminster Christian Academy. Davis was named the ABC League Player of the Year in 2007 after leading the Wildcats to the state quarterfinals and a conference championship. Davis will wear No. 35. Godwin, a 6-5 freshman forward, is a local product out of Winston-Salem's Mount Tabor High School. Godwin helped the Spartans advance to the North Carolina 4A state quarterfinals in 2008 and claim the Central Piedmont Conference championship last season. Godwin will wear No. 41. The addition of the three players brings the Deacon roster to 17.
